How much concrete do I need for my job?
Every job is different, however if you follow some basic rules we can help you form an estimate.
Concrete is purchased by the cubic meter (m3) and is placed by the square meter (m2).
For normal household concrete the depth or thickness of the concrete is 10cm or 100mm. That is for every m3 of concrete 10m2 is placed. If you measure the area of concrete required in m2, divide that number by 10, that is how much concrete is required.
How much will my job cost?
The purchase and placement of concrete contains many variables. To form a basic estimate, we must put together the following 3 items:
- The cost of the concrete
- The placement and finishing of the concrete
- Any earthworks required to prepare for the concrete.
